Laura Tiuca is managing counsel in Salans' Bucharest office. She is also one of two Bucharest Global Real Estate leaders and has a wealth of experience with real estate projects including acquisition, structuring, financing, public procurement, leasing and development of real estate investment portfolios, commercial centres, residential complexes, logistics and office space. Laura regularly publishes articles on legal issues in the real estate market.

Recent Experience:

  • Providing legal assistance on major real estate transactions and real estate projects (including negotiations, structuring, legal due diligence, drafting and reviewing the necessary agreements); reviewing and amending inter alia financing-related documents, construction and management agreements, FIDIC contracts, lease agreements
  • Providing legal assistance and advice in preparation for an arbitration case in London in respect of a public-private partnership in Romania; providing legal assistance during negotiations with the Ministry of Transport, Constructions and Tourism on issues related to the PPP; drafting amendments to the PPP Agreement in order to ensure the obtainment of the necessary financing by the investors as well as better implementation in practice of the PPP
  • Providing legal advice on various issues related to public procurement and concession law, including the financing of a concessioned portion of land
  • Providing legal advice and managing the legal due diligence and acquisition process of 200 ha for the development of a research centre in the automotive industry
  • Providing legal analysis on certain issues related to a concession granted under the Oil Law in view of a US $100 million public offering made by an international corporation in oil and gas exploration and production
  • Providing legal assistance on a shopping centre development in Bucharest (structuring the envisaged investment, legal due diligence, assistance during negotiations)
  • Advising on the development of residential projects in Bucharest and other areas in Romania
  • Involvement in a real estate-related litigation case, providing legal advice on the sale-purchase of real estate portfolios, including inter alia major office properties, retail, logistics
