Karina Furga-Dąbrowska is a partner in Salans' Warsaw office and head of the Tax Advisory Team.
In the 2008 and 2010 editions of the ranking of tax advisory firms organised by Rzeczpospolita (Polish quality daily) Karina was recognised as the best tax advisor for the pharmaceutical sector. She is also recommended as a tax specialist by international legal directories such as Chambers Europe 2011, Chambers Global 2011, PLC Which Lawyer 2011 and The Legal 500 EMEA 2011, as well as by the tax directory World Tax 2012.. Karina's wealth of experience includes transaction support (advice on takeovers, legal mergers, separations of businesses and the creation of tax efficient holding structures, developing tax strategies for acquisition and disposal of company assets, as well as performing tax due diligences), representing taxpayers in disputes with tax and customs authorities, planning and assistance in implementing tax structures for business activities in Poland and abroad, tax risk management in Polish and multinational enterprises, tax management of intellectual property rights, international tax planning, advice on VAT, customs duties and excise and tax effective supply chain management.
She has particular specialisms in tax advice for the pharmaceutical, real estate and energy sector. Her area of expertise also covers taxation of passive assets owned by high-value individuals (tax planning through the use of trusts and partnership vehicles). Karina has a proven track record in handling complex, multi-jurisdictional projects focused on developing optimal tax structures and guiding foreign investments in Poland.
