Flagging

We have extensive experience of identifying suitable countries/ports of registration to suit the particular needs of ship-owning clients including the UK, Ireland, all Flag of Convenience jurisdictions, as well as in the countries where our offices are located. For example, in Kazakhstan we have assisted an international shipping contractor with obtaining bar boat charter registration certificates for marine vessels at Aktau seaport in the Caspian Sea.

Crewing

Our team has advised in crewing matters, including the ITF for over 30 years in London. During that time frame we have established and built up extensive contacts with the London ITF Secretariat and with most of the Scandinavian Seaman’s Unions, all of which assist in dispute resolution. Our lawyers have also drafted and advised on collective bargaining agreements with ITF seafaring affiliaters in Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Norway, Sweden, the UK, and the Philippines. Our offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg have notable experience in crewing matters, including structuring a contractual relationship between ship managers and crewing agencies and dealing with the ITF affiliate in Russia.
