Global French Desk
The Global French Desk focuses on the business needs of French-speaking clients and integrates French-speaking lawyers and tax advisers throughout the firm from New York to Shanghai, as well as lawyers from our Paris office who work with clients worldwide.
As an integral part of a genuinely multinational firm, the members of the Global French Desk speak our clients’ language, know their business practices and culture, and combine this with a strong, longstanding commitment in each country involved. Our top priority is to deliver a tailored, innovative and expert solution to clients.
Our Approach
The Global French Desk spans across Europe, the US and Asia offices and comprises over 200 French-speaking lawyers in 15 offices. An additional six of our offices offer legal advice in French, supported by partners in other offices. The members of the Global French Desk abroad work closely with their colleagues in the Paris office on cross-border transactions and projects.
The teams within the Global French Desk are led by French-qualified lawyers and native speakers who have lived and worked for many years and acquired in-depth knowledge of the business and legal system in the country where they operate, or by foreign partners who have acquired advanced French-language proficiency through education or previous work experience in France and/or with major French clients. All members of the Global French Desk are proficient in at least three languages (French, English and a local language).

Since 2010 the Global French Desk has issued a quarterly French-language client newsletter, covering legal issues in our countries of operation: from country reports to legislation updates and cross-border topics, our dedicated team of lawyers on the ground focus on delivering an informed point of view on the legal and regulatory framework and business climate on three continents, 16 countries and 21 cities.
