Agnieszka Wardak is a partner in Salans' Warsaw Office. She heads the criminal litigation practice. Agnieszka specialises in litigation and criminal law, in particular white collar crime, crisis management and corporate compliance. She advises on scenarios posing a threat to business continuity and market reputation.

Agnieszka has represented international companies in proceedings related to offences committed by employees and in proceedings against management. She has also worked on projects related to an investigation by a parliamentary commission. She is an experienced trainer on internal procedures and compliance rules.

 

Recent Experience:

  • Advising on public procurement law compliance and carrying out an internal investigation at a global corporation to identify existing risks
  • Representing a corporation in proceedings on the non-compliance of employees with company procedures and provisions of law
  • Taking the role of the leading legal counsel in one of the most publicised cases in the history of the Polish medical equipment industry, including the general management of the crisis
  • Providing combined legal and PR (in cooperation with a PR agency) crisis management services to a distributor of medical equipment accused of distributing contaminated syringes causing risk to human life and health
  • Representing the committee of bondholders (EUR 510 million eurobonds) in a dispute regarding the repayment of the bonds, including bankruptcy proceedings and enforcement of the securities
  • Representing an insurance company in a number of employment cases
  • Advising in several cases involving criminal investigation against the employees (white collar crimes)
  • Advising and representing a global packaging company in issues and proceedings related to a fatal accident at work and on designing and implementing a global policy on safety at work
  • Representing an international manufacturer of photographic equipment in a court dispute concerning liability deriving from a warranty for lack of physical defects
  • Representing a manufacturer of heavy goods vehicles in a series of court and arbitration disputes concerning the sale of such vehicles
  • Advising in various investigations against the management board members of a global auditing company
