Jiří is a Partner in Salans' Prague office and co-heads the Real Estate Finance Sector Group within the Global Real Estate Group. He focuses on real estate, financing and commercial law and has extensive experience in real estate and other project financings in Central and Eastern Europe. He worked as a lead lawyer on transactions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Russia. He has also advised a number of institutional clients on sales and acquisitions of real estate in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Jiří has also recently been working on several restructuring and insolvency matters.

Jiří has been recognised for several years by Chambers Europe as “a rising star” and in 2011  was ranked as Recognised in real estate. He is noted as a “very hands-on and technically skilled lawyer.” In 2012, Jiří was also recognised in banking & finance by Chambers Global. He is described as "a clever lawyer who is brilliant to work with". Jiří was also named “amongst The Best Lawyers in the Czech Republic 2009 in Real Estate”  by Woodward/White, Inc.

Recent Experience:

  • Accession Fund of GLL Real Estate Partners – EUR 308 million refinancing of its real estate portfolio consisting of 10 projects in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania
  • AFI Europe and Avestus Capital Partners – Sale of their shares in the company owning the prime shopping centre Palác Flóra in Prague to Atrium European Real Estate. The transaction value was EUR 191 million, making it the largest transaction of this kind on the Prague real estate market in 2011
  • Heitman International - Acquisition of the office building Aupark Tower in Bratislava with the value of EUR 80 million
  • A group of bondholders of ECM – Representation in this multi-jurisdictional litigious insolvency proceedings regarding a listed developer
  • ING Lease and ING Bank – Representation of  the lenders in insolvency proceedings started by ING Lease against MSV Metal Studénka, a.s., a Czech producer of equipment for railway trolleys and construction machinery
