Paul Salmon is a partner in Salans' London office. He is also the head of the London Corporate Group. He has over 25 years experience in acting for public and private companies and concentrates on mergers and acquisitions, company and business disposals, takeovers, flotation's, issues of securities and joint ventures. Paul is a specialist in IPOs for overseas companies and has lectured on the AIM Market in London and overseas. Paul acted for the first Romanian company to come to the London Stock Exchange.

In Legal 500 2011, Paul is described as a ‘safe pair of hands’ and in Chambers UK 2011, A Client's Guide to the Legal Profession, Paul is identified as a key individual, winning praise from clients for his "willingness to state an opinion rather than simply hedge his bets." In 2009, he was named as a Leading Expert in Corporate Finance where he "is viewed as a good deals man, never losing sight of what the client needs'." And in 2008, Paul was acknowledged as a 'practical and professional practitioner, adept at laying before you the potential risks on a transaction.' Recent Experience:

  • Acted for Otkritie Financial Corporation JSC, one of Russia's leading banking groups, on its proposed purchase of Latvian bank 'GE Money Bank' from SIA GE Money Latvia Holdings, from GE Capital
  • Advising Teleca AB, a Swedish IT company owned primarily by US private equity fund Symphony, on the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of SurfKitchen Limited from its holding company SurfKitchen Inc
  • Acted for the Italian energy company Enel SpA on a major Russian merger and acquisition transaction involving the sale of 51 per cent of SeverEnergia LCC by Eni and Enel to Gazprom JSC for a total price of US$1.6 billion
  • Acted for the AIM listed Next Fifteen Communications Group plc on the acquisition of the trading subsidiaries of the AIM listed Upstream Marketing and Communications Inc. which operate in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney 
  • Acted for Religare Hichens, Harrison plc as Broker and Blomfield Corporate Finance Limited as Nomad on the Placing and Open Offer by their client the AIM listed Noventa Limited
  • Acted for Värde Partners Europe Limited on the provision of finance and on the acquisition of shares in BJJ Universul Development Limited, a Cypriot company which was the holding company of a group of companies owning and developing properties in Bulgaria and Romania
