Bogdan  Papandopol

Bogdan Papandopol, Managing Counsel and co-leader of Salans’ Global Real Estate Group in Bucharest, focuses primarily on real estate related issues and litigation. He has extensive experience both in transactions/consultancy and in litigation/representation in courts and arbitration. Bogdan has strong expertise in lawsuits, arbitration, insolvency, real estate development, construction contracts, due diligence - including title investigation and restitution claims, property management related aspects among which leases and landlord/tenant disputes. He is also focused on crisis management in connection with real estate deals and financing. Bogdan has acted as counsel to a large number of sophisticated Romanian and international investors in various types of real estate transactions, as well as in privatisation processes, especially with local and international banks. He has been involved as counsel in numerous lawsuits and dispute resolution procedures and has extensive experience in due diligence reviews of private and state-owned companies. In the years since he has been acting as a lawyer, Bogdan has authored a large number of articles on legal issues.

Recent Experience:

• Advising the largest shopping mall operator in Romania on a EUR 175 million financing, in connection with the refinancing of existing indebtness and for the financing of two new real estate projects (the largest real estate financing in Romanian history to date at the time of its closing
• Advising a major shopping mall operator in connection with restructuring the real estate portfolio consisting of "Bucuresti Mall" and "Romania Plaza", as well as with the extension of Bucuresti Mall, including title legal review of certain plots and concession-related issues
• Advising a major Austrialian fund in connection with the acquisition of City Mall Bucharest
• Advising a leading Austrian bank in connection with the privatisation process of Banca Comerciala Romana S.A. and of Romanian Savings Bank - CEC
• Advising major German companies in relation to the privatisation process of Electrica Moldova, Electrica Oltenia, Electrica Muntenia Sud and Distrigaz Nord
• Advising top French car producer in connection with the establishment of a R&D center in Romania, involving numerous and complex real estate issues
• Advising major investment fund in connection with the acquisition, development and leasing of Mercury Logistic Park on former agricultural land in Bolintin, Romania
• Advising the largest bank in Romania in connection with the provision of financing for the development of a residential project in Bucharest as part of a public-private partnership
• Advising Turkish investor in connection with the acquisition of land in northern Bucharest in view of the development of a mixed use project and with post-closing matters
• Advising a leading Swiss coffee producer in various administrative disputes with the customs authorities as well as in several arbitration proceedings
• Advising a leading energy investment fund in connection with real estate litigation matters associated with the selling of one of the largest wind energy projects in Romania

  Advising an international air carrier in court proceedings in connection with several monetary disputes and related aspects, including preparation of various memoranda
