Sophie Palmer is a senior associate in Salans' London office working in the Dispute Resolution group. Sophie is a fluent Russian speaker and frequently acts in disputes involving Russian-speaking parties and Russian language documentation.   • Acting for the Respondent to a USD 3.5 billion ICC arbitration brought against a municipality of an Asian state by a US contractor, in respect of an aborted infrastructure project; the dispute was settled on very favourable terms for the Respondent
  • Acting for a high net-worth individual in complex multi-party litigation with defendants based in various inaccessible jurisdictions, and successfully regaining control of a complex corporate structure acquired by him of which he had been fraudulently deprived
  • Acting in a successful LCIA arbitration claim for a Cypriot company brought against a Russian citizen in respect of a failed real estate project
  • Providing English and EU law advice to a US client on enforcement of LCIA arbitral awards against respondents in Gibraltar and Russia
  • Acting in a successful claim brought in an LCIA arbitration concerning the defective design and construction of a new church in the UK
  • Acting for the Respondent in its successful defence of an LCIA claim arising from a contract for the performance of services in Sudan
  • Acting for the successful Claimants in an ICC arbitration of a dispute arising between parties to a joint venture in Kazakhstan
