Ralf M. Nitschke is a partner in Salans' Paris office. He specialises in corporate and commercial law, with particular emphasis on cross-border M&A projects and transactions involving aspects of German and French law. Ralf has been involved in many mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances in a multi-jurisdictional context. He has advised a variety of clients from different jurisdictions, particularly in the area of chemicals, petrochemicals, engineered industrial products, luxury goods, media, software, tourism and financial services.

Recent Experience:

  • Representing a German transport and logistics group in the acquisition of a French airfreight handling company;
  • Advising a French industrial group in the acquisition of an agri-food company with operations in Germany and Central Eastern Europe;
  • Representing a French industrial group in the sale of one of its production lines to a leading Japanese chemicals group;
  • Advising a French chemicals group on a broad range of strategic corporate and M&A transactions, including the negotiation of a complex long-term supply arrangement with the European subsidiary of a diversified US technology company, and the sale of industrial activities in East Germany to a US specialty chemicals company;
  • Advising a French industrial group on two joint-ventures in China and South East Asia with a Japanese manufacturer of engineered products;
  • Representing a major UK property company in the acquisition by way of a German share deal of a landmark office building in Warsaw;
  • Representing a UK investment company in the negotiation of a credit facility for the financing of two property acquisitions in Germany;
  • Advising the Swiss subsidiary of a US technology group on the sale of one of its industrial divisions and related production facility in Monaco to a US automotive products manufacturer;
  • Advising a French industrial group in connection with the negotiation of two joint-ventures relating to the construction and operation of petrochemical facilities in the Middle-East.
