Michał Mężykowski is a partner in Salans' Warsaw office. He concentrates on banking & finance, corporate and bankruptcy law. He specialises in secured syndicated and bilateral credits, acting for financial institutions as well as borrowers.

Michał has a wealth of experience advising clients on project financing, property acquisition and development financing, and acquisition financing. He has extensive experience in matters pertaining to the operational activities of financial institutions (outsourcing, bank secrecy, setting up branches), restructurings, foreign exchange issues and corporate law in general. He has also represented banks in litigation related to the bankruptcy of borrowers.

Michał Mężykowski is ranked in banking and finance in the legal directories Chambers Global 2012 and Chambers Europe 2012 and recommended as a “leading lawyer” in the field of banking in The IFLR1000 2012 edition – The Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms.

  • Representing an Austrian bank in a dispute with borrowers and the bankruptcy proceedings of borrowers
  • Representing an Austrian bank in a syndicated loan agreement for the construction of a shopping centre
  • Representing Polish banks in numerous projects for financing residential developments
  • Representing a bank with respect to financing the acquisition of 200 apartments in 23 different residential developments
  • Representing a bank in connection with financing an office building (construction and investment facilities)
  • Representing the borrower as local counsel in connection with a syndicated facilities agreement including acquisition financing and bridge financing for public aid
  • Representing a foreign bank in setting up a branch and launching operations in Poland
  • Representing a French company (shopping centre operator) in cooperation with a Polish bank in connection with consumer finance services
