Glenn S. Kolleeny is a partner in Salans' St. Petersburg office. He also spends time working in Salans' offices in Moscow and Almaty. Glenn is in charge of Salans' programme of expansion in Russia and CIS and coordinates cooperation with firms in Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Yekaterinburg, as well as in Tbilisi and Minsk. He also works in Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Serbia. Glenn concentrates on advising major foreign investors in their Russian and CIS investments with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, structured trade finance and project finance. He has specialised expertise in the forestry, agrobusiness, and non-ferrous and precious metals industries as well as in hotel acquisition, redevelopment and management.
Glenn has completed more than USD 6 billion of M&A transactions in the past 5 years. His clients include financial institutions, private equity funds, international and Russian multinational corporations.
Glenn is the author of over 100 articles on Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and is a frequent participant in conferences on mergers and acquisition, infrastructure, real estate development, finance and investment in Russia, the former Soviet Union, Mongolia and Serbia.
Glenn Kolleeny was described by Legal 500 2010 as a lawyer who "makes transactions happen" according to his clients. In 2009 he was identified by Legal 500 as "highly experienced and quick-witted." He was described by Chambers Europe 2010 as "a US and internationally qualified lawyer, and a familiar face among the St. Petersburg commercial elite." He was identified by Chambers Global 2008 as the firm's "powerhouse" in St. Petersburg, where he is the head of a "seamless team," according to clients. In 2010 Best Lawyers listed Glenn among 65 recommended corporate lawyers in Russia.

Representing international investors in the development of the Jerooy gold deposit in Western Kyrgyzstan, including structuring of JerooyAltyn as a joint venture with the Kyrgyzstan state gold company, Kyrgyzaltyn, and negotiating the joint venture and license agreements as well as handling claims relating to previous investors in the project

Representing Ciments Francais (Italcementi Group - the world's 5th largest cement producer) in connection with sale of its assets in Turkey for EUR 600 million in cash and shares to Sibirskiy Cement, the second largest Russian cement producer and leader in the region east of the Urals. This deal did not close and Salans continues to represent Ciments Francais in connection with matters relating to Sibirsky Cement.
