Sonia Jordan is a partner in Salans' London office. She is a member of the Global Banking and Finance Practice Group and the Global Reorganisation, Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. She concentrates on insolvency/corporate recovery and corporate turnaround/restructuring. Sonia regularly advises a UK clearing bank on all aspects of customer workouts and security recoveries. She also advises Insolvency Practitioners in relation to business and asset sales and Company Voluntary Arrangements and on all contentious aspects of formal insolvencies, in particular asset tracing and recovery actions. She advises directors on matters relating to director's duties, corporate sales, restructuring and informal credit arrangements. She continues to advise on all aspects of personal bankruptcy, in particular on asset tracing and recovery actions.

Sonia is a member of R3, the Insolvency Lawyers Association and TMA (UK) the Turnaround Management Association. Sonia's business practice has grown considerably in relation to advising insolvency practitioners, companies, directors, turnaround practitioners and financiers including main clearers and second tier financial institutions.

  • Advising the administrators of one of the UK's leading music and outdoor event promoters on all aspects of the administration and sale of the company's business
  • Advising a major US telecoms company with regard to the reorganisation of its European group subsidiaries
  • Advising a major UK clearing bank on a number of recovery issues relating to defaulting customers both in the UK and Europe
  • Advising a number of local authorities in aspects of insolvency
  • Advising a number of local authorities in respect of winding up and bankruptcy proceedings
