Johannes Jonas, co-head of the German International Practice Group, is a partner based in Salans' Paris office. He concentrates on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and general commercial law, with particular emphasis on cross-border transactions with the US and Germany.

Johannes has practiced law since 1989 and has developed a large base of German (or German-speaking) and US clients doing business in France and foreign clients investing in Germany. He has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions/joint ventures involving small, medium and large US, German and French industry groups in a broad range of industries.

Recent Experience:

  • Representing a German engineering group in the acquisition of a French aeronautic engineering business
  • Representing a major European player in the electricity sector in its business combination with another European electricity group
  • Representing a large international food production and distribution group in its divestiture of a French food business
  • Representing Süddeutscher Verlag in the MBO of a French subsidiary
  • Representing The Cypress Group in its purchase of the worldwide automotive business of Cooper-Standard (local counsel in five jurisdictions, including France, UK and Germany)
  • Representing a German fashion jewel producer in the sale of its production assets to a leading French luxury group
  • Representing T-Venture Fund (Deutsche Telekom group) in its investment in the French company OneAccess
  • Representing Travelocity/Sabre in its acquisition of a French online travel agency
  • Representing General Electric in an LBO of the French Frans Bonhomme group
  • Representing a German luxury products distributor in the acquisition of a French distribution network
