Olivier Genevois, a partner in the Paris office, specialises in the private equity, corporate and M&A fields.

Within the private equity industry, his experience includes the creation of domestic or transnational investment funds and related management companies; assisting management teams in dealing with regulatory, tax and governance matters; advising funds in primary private equity investments (LBOs, MBOs) and secondary portfolios transactions. He also focuses on funds of funds investments in French and foreign schemes.

Mr. Genevois also has extensive experience in industrial corporate and M&A transactions and regularly advises international pharmaceutical groups and worldwide actors in the chemical industry in their investments and divestures.  He has been regularly involved in both domestic and cross-border multi-jurisdictional transactions, as well as, most recently, in multiple investments relating to the production of renewable and sustainable energy through wind farms, biomass and solar plants.

Recent Experience:

  • Represented a French publicly-owned group in its investments in multiple projects for the production of renewable and sustainable energies in France and in the French overseas territories;
  • Represented a Dutch infrastructure investment fund in the setting up of a joint venture with a French publicly-owned group for the building and operation of 150 photovoltaic plants;
  • Represented a French listed company in the acquisition of the European specialty chemical business of a Spanish oil and gas group;
  • Represented an Australian mining group in the reorganisation and subsequent sale to a US non-listed group of its division for the distribution of technical aluminium products in 11 European countries;
  • Represented a French listed company and a major player in the chemical industry in the sale of its European business in water treatment products to a Finnish listed company and the leader in this industry;
  • Represented a US pharmaceutical group in the sale of its French business to a French listed company;
  • Assisted one of the major French private equity teams in the acquisition of the management company (general manager) from the sponsor (also a limited partner in the funds managed by such management company);
  • Assisted one of the most recognised private equity teams in Paris in the raising of their fourth LBO Fund, targeting a size of EUR 500 million, and in negotiations with LPs;
  • Represented a small/mid-cap LBO Fund in its LBO acquisition of a French distributor of polymers products in emerging markets;
  • Represented a French fund of funds in the acquisition of secondary fund portfolios; and
  • Represented a US pension trust in its investment in a French FCPR targeting a size of EUR 1 billion.
