Mathieu has specialised in Eastern European transactions since 1990 and has been based in Moscow since 1993. Over the years, he has helped clients to set up, develop and finance their operations in Russia, including by implementing ground-breaking transactions. These include the first acquisition of land in post-soviet Russia by a foreign-owned enterprise, the first receivable-backed financing for a Moscow commercial property developer and the first securitised international borrowing for a major Russian region.
Mathieu is a leading M&A lawyer acting for European clients as well as for leading Russian investors.
