Nick Ellis, a partner in the London office, specialises in real estate finance and real estate law, including development, financing, structuring and leasing in the regeneration, hospitality, mixed use and residential sectors. Nick has extensive experience in cross border investment and joint ventures and has advised inward investors to the UK as well as investors in European projects.

Nick advises on corporate acquisitions in the real estate sector, for both principals and funders and has also advised bidders for major PFI/PPP contracts in the UK.

  • Advising a UK property company in a GBP 120 million UK regional city centre regeneration project
  • Acting for a sharia compliant fund on the real estate aspects of a GBP 250 million mixed use regeneration project
  • Advising a consortium on the acquisition of a UK residential development company

  • Advising overseas investors on structuring a joint venture with a UK property company to enable a GBP 100 million retail development
  • Advising a UK property company on joint ventures with a Luxembourg listed fund to realise further value on planning gain from development sites throughout the UK

  • Acting for an investment bank and opportunity fund on their acquisition of a hotel property company
  • Acting for an entrepreneur in an acquisition of a portfolio of nursing homes and a GBP 120 million revolving facility for further acquisitions
  • Acting for banks in taking security for senior and mezzanine debt secured over UK property
  • Acting for a US REIT in exiting assets in CEE
