Julian Booth is an associate in Salans' London office. He specialises in international construction and engineering law and is co-head of the Global Construction, Development and Infrastructure sector group which operates within Salans' Global Real Estate Group. Although based in the UK, he advises a range of both UK and international developers, financial institutions, investors and government agencies on the procurement of building and engineering projects and the construction-related aspects of the funding, purchase, sale and lease of such developments.

Julian focuses on drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of international construction-related documentation such as: collateral warranties; performance bonds/parent company guarantees; development agreements; management service agreements and BOT procurements (including PPP/PFI).

Recent Experience includes:

  • UK: advising the developer on the regeneration and construction of two prime-central London residential developments
  • Romania: advising the developer on the proposed construction of one of the country's largest shopping malls in Bucharest (approx value: EUR 380 million)
  • Ukraine: advising an American subsidiary developer on the construction of a EUR 60 million logistics park
  • Bahrain: advising a Russian developer subsidiary on the proposed acquisition and construction of parts of a mega-holiday marina & leisure complex with an approx build value of over $600 million
  • Russian Federation: advising an American subsidiary developer on the construction of EUR 40 million warehouse development
  • Russian Federation: advising on the construction of a USGA Championship standard golf-course and leisure complex
