Jean-Charles Albitre is Of Counsel in Salans’ Budapest office and part of the Firm’s Global Corporate Group. He is a French qualified attorney (Avocat) at the Paris Bar and a Registered European Lawyer at the Budapest Bar. Jean-Charles is in charge of the Firm’s French Desk for Hungary and the Balkans. He focuses primarily on general corporate, corporate governance, stock exchange regulations and M&A transactions but also enjoys significant experience in real estate transactions, employment and litigation in a broad range of sectors throughout the CEE Region.

Recent Experience:

  • Advising clients in various corporate matters

  • Advising clients in connection with the termination of top executives’ employment relationship and the negotiation of termination packages

His recent experience prior to joining Salans includes:

  • Representing a leading IT group in connection with the acquisition of a Hungarian software developer
  • Representing clients in connection with post-acquisition arbitration and litigation cases
  • Advisor to a major insurance group in relation to the acquisition of control of a Hungarian insurance company and the investment in a listed Hungarian bank
  • Representing a leading dairy producer on the sale of a business
  • Representing companies in connection with the acquisition or the sale of companies and assets mainly in the industry, construction, automotive and agri-business sectors, mainly in Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia
  • Advising a consortium of companies in connection with some disputes relating to the construction works of the 4th line of the Budapest Metro
