International law firm Salans today announces it will support the individual contributions of its partners and staff across its 21 offices in raising money for the Haiti earthquake relief effort. An almost spontaneous response from the Salans workforce, stretching from New York around to Shanghai, has seen a number of charitable initiatives underway across offices since the tragedy which struck on January 12. In addition to this, many Salans individuals undertake their own personal charitable giving and this prompted the firm to make an additional contribution at firmwide level of USD 10000 to the charity Plein Soleil, which is committed to providing support and education to the children of Haiti.
Chairman of the Global Board, Francois Chateau, commented, "We have all been touched by the sheer magnitude of the disaster which has affected Haiti and its citizens. I am proud to say that the efforts of the people within Salans, who came up with many creative ways of raising money, have been supported at a firmwide level with this contribution which we hope will go some way to alleviating the suffering in Haiti as a consequence of the earthquake."
