Salans Creates IP Practice in Frankfurt - Daniel Marschollek Joins the Firm from Mayer Brown

20 January 2010

Salans is bolstering its Frankfurt office on 1 February 2010 with the IP and competition lawyer Daniel Marschollek, who joins as partner. Daniel Marschollek will set up the IP Practice for Salans in the still relatively new Frankfurt office. He joins Salans, together with two associates, Dr. Constantin Rehaag and Susanne Lührmann, from Mayer Brown.

Daniel Marschollek advises undertakings on all aspects of trademark law, design patent law and copyright law. A particular focus of his work is advising on the fight against counterfeiting and illegal parallel imports. Among his clients are leading international brand manufacturers such as Nike, Nokia, Converse, KonicaMinolta, Husqvarna and other well-known undertakings from the areas of luxury goods and pharmaceuticals. Daniel Marschollek has worked for Mayer Brown LLP since March 2002 and has been a partner since January 2005.

“Salans has had a well-established IP Practice internationally for many years, which further underlines the full-service approach of the firm”, stated Andreas Ziegenhagen, Managing Partner for Germany. “Daniel Marschollek will, together with his team, push ahead with the provision of advice in the area of intellectual property rights in the German offices, meaning that we can support our clients even more comprehensively.”

“Salans provides me with the opportunity of advising long-term clients to a greater extent in France and Eastern Europe, in particular in Poland and in Moscow,” stated Daniel Marschollek. “In addition, the challenge of playing a part in coordinating the further development of the European IP Practice entices me.”

The second German Salans office, in Frankfurt, has continually expanded since its opening in July 2008 and now has 20 fee earners. Only in January 2010, the partner Dr. Dietmar Schulz and counsel Mike Danielewsky joined Salans from Ashurst; both work in the areas of Corporate Finance / Restructuring.
