Salans today announces the composition of its Global Board, a representative body of seven partners which determines the strategy of the firm, following the recent election which takes place every two years.
Existing members Pascal Chadenet, Francois Chateau, Stephen Finch, Evan Z Lazar and Hermann Meller were re-elected. St Petersburg partner Glenn Kolleeny is a new addition to the Board, as well as Warsaw partner Arek Krasnodebski. They replace Head of Energy and Natural Resources in Russia, Jane Tarassova, and Warsaw Office Managing Partner, Tomasz Dabrowski, who will focus on key client relationship development and management initiatives, both local and regional (CEE), respectively.
Stephen Finch stepped down from his post as the Board’s Chairman after serving for five years in the role. Whilst remaining an active member of the Board, he wishes to focus on clients and opportunities particularly in the retail banking and energy and natural resources sectors, both significant growth areas for the firm. The new Chairman of the Board is New York partner Francois Chateau, a dual US-French citizen, noted for his corporate/commercial and luxury goods practice which extends from the US to Europe, the CIS and Asia.
New Chairman of the Global Board, Francois Chateau, declared, “As Chairman, my goal will be to continue developing our firm’s position as a leading actor in the international legal sector with a particular focus in emerging countries while reinforcing our positions in existing locations. Throughout its history, Salans has built a reputation for taking advantage of the challenges and opportunities across jurisdictions to build stronger market positions."
Global Managing Partner Dariusz Oleszczuk, who is responsible globally for the management of the firm and execution of its strategy, commented, “The contributions from Tomasz and Jane, as well as Stephen as Chairman of the Board, over the past five years have positioned the firm well in avoiding the sharp end of the fallout from the recession. Of course, they will continue to work with the Board to share their insight as well as continue to build on the firm’s pre-eminent position in Poland and Russia as well as other markets where we operate."
