On 9 December 2009 the Ministry of Culture and Communication signed a partnership agreement with Icade for the financing, construction and operation-maintenance of the Conservation Centre of the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations (MuCEM) in Marseille.
The construction of the Centre is a key project in Marseille's being named as European Capital of Culture in 2013. It represents the first Conservation Centre to be constructed under a Public-Private Partnership.
The total funding of the project amounts to EUR 23 million, and the partnership agreement was concluded for a 25-year term.
