The international law firm Salans advised Weberbank on its sale by West LB to
Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse (MBS). The acquisition is still subject to approval by the
competent authorities. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
West LB purchased Weberbank from Bankgesellschaft Berlin in 2005. Due to the
conditions imposed by the EU Commission, West LB has now had to sell on the traditional Berlin
private bank. Under the umbrella of MBS, Weberbank will continue to be run as an independent
entity.

on all aspects of company law, bank supervisory law, tax and accounting. The Salans lawyers had
already advised Weberbank on the occasion of its last change of ownership.
