International law firm Salans and Rostov law firm Eberg, Stepanov & Partners announce the
signing of a bilateral agreement on regional cooperation in Russia. The primary purpose of the
association is to provide legal assistance to Russian and foreign investors in southern Russia and
work with the Rostov region administration on infrastructure projects, including PPP.
Salans and Eberg, Stepanov & Partners will work together on international investment
projects in Rostov region, as well as on local investment projects outside the region.
The firms intend to provide joint legal support to major investment projects in agriculture,
transportation infrastructure (PPP), tourism, property development and construction, as well as
projects relating to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Salans and Eberg, Stepanov & Partners
also intend to conduct joint marketing and business development initiatives in the Rostov region,
other parts of Russia and abroad in order to complement sector capabilities.
Salans' Moscow and Saint Petersburg partner Glenn Kolleeny, head of the firm's
Russian regional practice, commented on the signing of the cooperation agreement: "The rapid growth
in agriculture allows the south of Russia to maintain its status as one of the most promising
regions, even during the global economic crisis. We believe that within 10-15 years this region
could establish itself as a leader in the European agricultural sector. We also think that our
clients will have wonderful prospects for investment in transportation, tourism, and construction.
And, of course, we can't overlook the huge influence that the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi will have
on the region's development."
Eberg, Stepanov & Partners managing partner Arthur Eberg added, "This is the first such
agreement for legal services in Rostov with an international law firm."
