Salans has been recognised as the leading law firm in Central and Eastern Europe at the annual
Chambers Europe Awards ceremony, held in London. For the second time in recent years, Salans was
awarded the Central and Eastern Europe Award for Excellence.
Based on client and peer research by leading independent publisher Chambers and Partners, the
award was collected on behalf of the firm by Oleg Batyuk, Managing Partner of the Kyiv office. The
firm's Ukraine presence was also singled out for honour in the evening's individual jurisdiction
categories.
Beating competition in the category from Allen & Overy, Baker & McKenzie, Clifford
Chance, CMS Cameron McKenna and White & Case, Salans was noted not only for its success over
the last 12 months, but for its long-term commitment to the CEE region and its client base which
operates there.
With seven full-service offices in the region, stretching from Prague to Istanbul, Salans has
been advising multinational companies and banks in relation to their cross-border investment
activity in CEE for over 15 years. This commitment ensures a client base equally committed to
seeking out the opportunities which remain in the market. This has been evidenced recently with the
completion of one of the few cross-border real estate financings in the region late last year, and
this year through its advice to a number of CEE-based cash-rich investors and funds seeking to get
involved in the UK market.
Stephen Finch, Chairman, commended the team of lawyers and support staff who contributed to this
honour, saying "the recognition is testament to the work and effort of our people working in and
for the Central and Eastern European region."
