Salans Warsaw was highly ranked in the 7th ranking of law firms conducted by
Rzeczpospolita, a leading Polish daily newspaper.
Once again we were placed within the 10 top law firms serving the corporate market from as many
as 216 surveyed. This year Salans advanced to the "big five" of law firms. We ranked 5th
not only on the headline number of lawyers, but also in terms of the number of advocates and legal
advisers - up two places on last year and up four places on 2007. Moreover, we were
ranked 3rd in terms of revenue (following Clifford Chance and CMS
Cameron McKenna in 1st and 2nd place, respectively).
These results were calculated on the basis of information received from the law firms invited to
take part in the ranking. As part of the ranking Salans and individual lawyers were recommended by
other law firms in a number of practice areas.
Arek Krasnodębski is a
leader in the field of energy law and his energy practice won the position of vice-leader. We also
scored particularly highly in investment finance and pharmaceutical law. The recommendations
include:
- energy law (vice-leader) and Arek Krasnodębski (leader)
- pharmaceutical law (no.1) and Wojciech Kozłowski (no.2)
- investment finance (no.1)
- litigation and arbitration (no.2) and Piotr Nowaczyk (no.3)
- public procurement (no.2)
- technology, media and telecommunications (no.2)
- banking & finance (no.3)
- M&A/privatisation/restructuring (no.4)
- real estate (no.4)
- insolvency
Tomasz Dąbrowski, Warsaw
managing partner, said: "This is a very good result especially considering the fact that
Rzeczpospolita rankings have never been too kind to us in contrast to the international
rankings, where we have usually scored much higher". He also warmly congratulated the Salans Warsaw
team: "Congratulations to all for improving our position significantly in the tough and demanding
market of legal services."
