Salans has advised SibStroyInvest, a joint venture between Renaissance, one of the leading shopping mall development companies, and Amstar Global Partners, a private equity real estate fund active in emerging markets including Russia, on a €60m debt financing consisting of a €40m senior loan from the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and UniCredit Bank Austria as 50% participant and €20m subordinate loan from the EBRD for the new Aura Shopping Centre in the city centre of Novosibirsk, Russia.

Salans Paris advised ING REIM for the financing of the acquisition of three class A logistics platforms in Survilliers (95) by the logistics investment fund ING Real Estate European Industrial Fund (ING REEIF), managed by ING REIM. IPBM, managed by GE Real Estate France, sold the platforms in a close to 50 million euro transaction, reflecting a rate of return exceeding 8%.

Salans is bolstering its Frankfurt office on 1 February 2010 with the IP and competition lawyer Daniel Marschollek, who joins as partner. Daniel Marschollek will set up the IP Practice for Salans in the still relatively new Frankfurt office. He joins Salans, together with two associates, Dr. Constantin Rehaag and Susanne Lührmann, from Mayer Brown.

The recent International Human Resources (“HR”) Barometer survey, polling over 550 senior HR management professionals across 17 countries, conducted by The Scala Group, The ACE Network and supported by international law firm Salans, showed that 62% of UK companies
include the HR function when undertaking top-level strategic planning. This figure rises to 80% in UK companies with more than 7500 employees.

Dr Iris Duchetsmann and Miss Lijuan Zheng (“Cynthia”) joined the firm on 4 January 2010, with Duchetsmann installed as Salans’ Head of its China Labour Law Group. Both join the firm from the Shanghai office of Beiten Burkhardt.
