We are regular advisers in the area of trade finance for banks, lenders, sponsors, borrowers and off-takers in the field of oil and gas, metals, minerals, agricultural products and other commodities, with such transactions covering a variety of financing techniques. A sample of our experience in this area includes:

Advising a leading Russian coal company on a USD 100 million syndicated trade finance facility for
the financing of coal exports from Russia;

Advising the subsidiary of one of the world’s largest independent oil companies on a USD 70 million oil pre-finance facility in Kazakhstan;

Advising a large independent oil trading company on a GBP 550 million natural gas pre-finance L/C facility made available by a syndicate of banks to an Iranian borrower;

Advising a large independent oil trading company on a USD 300 million facility to a Congolese oil company with the client as sole off-takers providing an additional USD 30 million pre-payment facility; and,

Acting for a large European bank in connection with a USD 200 million (max) structured pre-export financing facility, from which Ukrainian borrowers will be able to finance the production of various commodities. The security package consists of account pledges and exporter and off-taker assignments, in addition to surety ships and guarantees.
