Case Study: Helping Seed to Blossom in the French Suburbs

The Background

Major venture capitalists, including two former heads of the AFIC (Association Française des Investisseurs en Capitaux), supported a venture and seed capital project aimed at developing start-up businesses in the French suburbs.

The Transaction

We assisted the management team of the French Fonds Commun de Placement à Risques (FCPR) and Business Angels des Cités (BAC) with the creation of their fund by “transforming” an existing société de capital risques (SCR) and registering it with the French Autorité des Marchés Financiers.

The Result

A new venture capital fund committed to developing start-up businesses in suburban areas has been created. Salans continues to support BAC in various investments (ethnic cosmetics, sportswear trading).
